An FM-1 instrument mod for the MiniLab 3. Plug in over DIN MIDI and play without a computer.
Record anything on your phone. Choppa chops it into 16 pads. Send the bank straight to an FM-1 track.
COMING IN 1.13
Making your own sender? The sample format and transfer are open: editor protocol.
MiniLab mappings: normal and Alt controls.
Editor → Dev shows memory, storage and performance readouts.
From midi24, HOME shows all four tracks at once, one waveform each, so you can see which track is sounding.
A thin line at the bottom of the FM-1 screen shows your patch’s position in its bank.
Up to 32 patches per synth bank: basses, pads, keys, leads and textures. Voice has 26 patches with its bass sounds removed. Other patches keep their numbers.
Choose a kit in the DRUM bank; Yama-bruh kits start with YB. Edit and mix each drum separately.

Hold Alt (cyan A-bank pad 1) for the second layer. Knobs follow the keyboard MIDI channel. LFO rate and shape are shared with vibrato; amount at centre is off, left reverses the motion. The destination varies by engine; WHEEL ignores the amount. Higher FM6 envelope time values mean slower modulator envelopes. Alt + DRUM knobs, Alt + top knob 4 and Alt + pads 2–7 are unassigned.
LFO shapes: sine, triangle, saw, square and sample-and-hold.
Patterns run up to 64 steps: SEQ → PATTERN → LEN. Page through groups of 16.
